Payroll Tax Analyst

The Americas Payroll Team is responsible for managing all aspects of U.S., Canada and LAR payroll delivery and compliance including regular payroll, variable pay programs, foreign assignment payroll, and payroll tax for Intel's more than 50,000 Americas employees.
A successful candidate in this role will partner with the Payroll Production team, payroll vendors, internal and external business partners to deliver successful payroll tax compliance results and to create a deeper payroll tax bench.
This role's primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting and withholding responsibilities.
- Find solutions to payroll tax irregularities by gathering and analyzing data and performing modifications.
- Test and validate HCMS updates for tax compliance
- Establish tax requirements for new programs and benefits
- Coordinate with employment tax on state and local registrations Year-end audits, clean-up, reconciliations and W-2 and W-2C processing
- Respond to employee tax queries and escalations from our HR service center
- Manage imputed income files from many sources including expense management, corporate services, and various businesses offering taxable fringes
- Review tax rates for unit to share conversions
- Continuously drive improvements, automation, communication, and education to increase quality and improve employee experience.
- Support audit inquiries Provide necessary tax data for corporate tax and accounting filing requirements.
A successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of payroll tax concepts with an understanding of payroll regulations and governmental reporting requirements in the US
- Advanced analytical, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to turn data into actionable information
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguous and complex work situations and multiple stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills and desire to coach and develop others
- Strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively resolve issues with HR, employees, Legal, etc.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Proven ability to work in an organized manner with the ability to manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines, at times handling multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining proper prioritization
- Commitment to working together as one team, exceeding service expectations by developing positive relationships and treating others with value and respect
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields; or comparable work experience
- 3+ years of payroll tax experience in US
- 2 years of combined experience with Microsoft Office, Workday or comparable payroll system
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA and/or CPP preferred
- 5+ years of payroll tax experience in US payroll
- Multi state payroll processing
- Legal entity registration
