SAP Release Engineer
Job Description
The SAP Release Engineer specializes in the deployment, maintenance, and documentation of the software tool chain for source code management, software compilation, and artifact content distribution. This role ensures the efficient planning, installation, configuration, maintenance, and operation of the hardware and software infrastructure required to build, validate, and release various hardware and software products and projects. The engineer oversees and ensures timely software releases and may manage the software implementation process from development to execution.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Plan and manage the release of project deliverables and the release life cycle, ensuring adherence to change management processes and continuous improvement.
Maintain a release calendar to coordinate schedules, planned releases, and infrastructure updates/upgrades.
Build and oversee team structures to manage releases, providing guidance and support for smooth execution.
Identify and mitigate risks that could delay releases, working with teams to ensure timely delivery.
Streamline the release process, ensuring teams follow defined procedures and assigning specific team members to handle releases.
Conduct Go-Live activities and post-release reviews to ensure successful implementation and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure understanding and effective use of automation tools (e.g., Rev-Trac) for software development and deployment.
Maintain and update reports related to releases, addressing issues and providing solutions to prevent future problems.
Act as an escalation point for release-related queries and provide L2/L3 support for urgent issues.
Continuously update Change and Release Management work instructions and work with vendors to enhance the user experience.
Collaborate with the infrastructure/platform engineering team to ensure a robust and performing release environment.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes, project work, internships, and/or military experience. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of experience or Master’s Degreewith 3+ yearsof experience in Computer Science, Technology, or STEM-related.
3+ years of experience with SAP releases and deployments.
3+ years of experience with SAP development lifecycle, tools, development environment, and migration tools like Rev-Trac.
3+ years of experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
3+ years of experience in computer programming and knowledge of ABAP and SAP technologies development.
This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
SAP development experience (ABAP) is an added advantage.
Experience with SAP release automation tools such as Rev-Trac is an added advantage.
Understanding of SAP S4 and transformation from earlier versions is an added advantage.
Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
Project coordination skills.
Good understanding of SAP infrastructure, system architecture, SAP landscapes, and operating systems.
