Software Build and Release Engineer (Temporary position)
Job Description
The Junior Build and Release Engineer will assist in managing and improving the build and release processes for our software products. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about DevOps, eager to learn, and looking to grow their career in build and release engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery. Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Please consider that this is a Temporary position (1 year).
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of build and release pipelines.
- Support the automation of build, test, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to facilitate smooth releases.
- Monitor build and deployment processes, identifying and resolving issues as they arise.
- Maintain CI/CD tools and infrastructure, including Jenkins, Git, Docker, etc.
- Follow best practices for version control, branching, and merging strategies.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in the build and release processes.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Continuously learn and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, are required to be initially considered for this position:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ months of experience in build and release engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
- 6+ months of experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Circle CI, or similar.
- 6+ months of experience in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy.
- 6+ months of experience working with control systems, particularly Git.
- Intermediate to Advanced English level.
- The position is in Mexico, it is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer science engineering is a plus.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience with microservices architecture and related technologies.
- Experience in refactoring Git repositories, including reorganizing repository structure, optimizing commit history, and ensuring codebase maintainability.
- Understanding of the GNU General Public License (GPL), including its terms, conditions, and application in software development projects.
