Job Description

About Altera:
Altera empowers customers to unlock the full potential of data through cutting-edge programmable platforms. In Q4 2023, Intel announced Altera will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2025, with ongoing support from Intel. This will give Altera the autonomy and flexibility it needs to fully accelerate its growth and more effectively compete in the FPGA industry, which serves a broad array of markets, including the data center, communications, industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense sectors.

This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

Summary

You will be responsible for ensuring that our compensation strategy is competitive, aligned with our business goals, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You will also partner with senior leaders and HR business partners to create and communicate effective compensation plans that drive employee engagement and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the compensation team and provide guidance, coaching and development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and consistent compensation philosophy and framework that supports Altera's vision, values and objectives.
  • Design and administer various compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, equity, recognition, and benefits.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure our compensation programs are competitive and equitable.
  • Lead the annual compensation planning cycle, including budgeting, modeling, communication and execution.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the current and proposed compensation programs and policies, and recommend enhancements or changes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to compensation, such as FLSA, EEO, OFCCP, etc.
  • Develop and deliver compensation training and education programs for managers and employees.
  • Partner with HRIS, payroll, finance, legal and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely data management and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in compensation and total rewards.

As a successful candidate, you must possess:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and project management skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Willingness to work effectively with senior leaders, HR business partners and cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS and compensation software.
