Strategic Sourcing Manager
Job Description
In Q4 2023, Intel announced Altera® will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.
This will give Altera® the autonomy and flexibility it needs to fully accelerate its growth and more effectively compete in the FPGA industry, which serves a broad array of markets, including the data center, communications, industrial, automotive, aerospace and defense sectors.
The incumbent of this role will include but not limited to:
Manages large, highly visible strategic supplier relations, often with senior leadership/executive contacts to drive value through strategic sourcing decisions and align philosophical business partnership and working model across both companies.
Drives development and implementation of commodity/category strategy and procurement initiatives to enable long term business growth.
Manages group activities including contracts, specifications, quality, capacity and HVM support to meet business unit product requirements.
Creates robust negotiation strategies and cost targeting through understanding of market dynamics, industry benchmarking, and key trends. Drives business impact by influencing senior managers to adopt practices that enable execution with consistency.
Anticipates business risks and drives mitigating strategies with accuracy, quality, and timeliness of delivery.
Ensures adherence to policy, educates stakeholders and suppliers on policy compliance, and manages the remediation and resolution of sourcing issues. Identifies opportunities to adapt policy as required to better enable suppliers to meet business needs.
This position will report to the Strategic Sourcing Director.
Qualifications
This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field of study with 5+ years of experience or MBA with 3+ years of experience in direct sourcing (i.e. manufacturing and direct materials suppliers).
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of semiconductor sourcing experience.

Working Model
