Job Description


Intel's recently announced IDM 2.0 strategy includes a plan to significantly expand the manufacturing network, establishing new capacity and capability to meet the accelerating global demand for semiconductors. The Disaggregation Manufacturing Organization (DMO) will play an important role in this strategy, leveraging Intel's Advanced Packaging technology portfolio to deliver leadership products.

The ROC (Remote Operations Center) Engineer provides tactical and strategic operational support for development, ramp, and sustained output of a high-volume semiconductor fabrication facility. The systems the ROC Engineer works on will provide a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies that transform raw data into meaningful and useful information used to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision-making. The primary responsibility is working to maintain and improve upon the systems and processes utilized by technicians operating in the ROC. This is done by acting as a conduit between the ROC, Automation, and factory engineering to identify and resolve issues that impact factory output and provide automated solutions to drive ROC efficiency improvements.

The Remote Operations Engineer's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Partnering with a team of engineers to design automated solutions.
  • Maintaining and updating automation systems to incorporate new technologies.
  • Willingness to upskill peers on their areas of expertise.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and lateral thinking to help deal with the high level of ambiguity that is associated with the problems often encountered in the job role.
  • Hands-on participation with frequent presence in the ROC and on the factory, floor is expected.


The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

Full time onsite required during training, estimated 6 months. After training: hybrid "work from home" to be defined by manager and employee but continued onsite will be required.

This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or a related field and 4+ years' experience in manufacturing, engineering or automation systems.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in wafer fabrication manufacturing.
  • In depth knowledge and aptitude towards learning Intel's automation and manufacturing systems.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated individual that is willing to define problem statements out of ambiguous information and has a demonstrated sense of urgency to address factory issues.
  • Experience/knowledge in constraint management, factory physics and/or data mining.
  • Experience in driving improvement projects and roadmaps across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or SQL Databases

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
