IT Infrastructure Engineer Systems Administrator

Job Description

Join our team delivering critical IT infrastructure services for Intel products development groups in Europe. In this position, you will focus on operational support and evolution of Windows/Linux based environments and services, including high-performance compute and application hosting servers.

This is an entry level position for college (higher education – BSc/MSc) graduate with knowledge/experience and desire to develop in Windows administration field and future opportunities to expand into Linux area; you will work within a team of IT professionals in Europe, be part of a larger global organization and have multiple learning opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Keep IT infrastructure stable, current and secure: perform upgrades, changes, security patching;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues (user/monitoring-generated tickets; 3rd level support);
  • Fulfill customer service requests, understand customer requirements and map to relevant IT solutions;
  • Deploy new IT solutions and environments in coordination with customers and global service teams;
  • Drive continual service improvement, help automate operations and processes;

  • Collaborate with central help-desk, service design and service delivery groups worldwide.



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in Windows administration (can be obtained through classes and practical work during studies, internships, 1-2 years work experience).
  • Demonstrated understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, AD, NIS.
  • Motivation to continuously learn and develop.
  • A team player.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Results orientation and good time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent English.

Additional and Preferred (will be a plus):

  • Experience in Linux system administration.
  • Experience in automation/scripting in support of system administration tasks.
  • Experience with virtualization solutions e.g. VMware & Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of different types of data storage and backup systems.
