Design Automation Engineer Layout Backend

Job Description
Develops and tests Engineering Design Automation tools, creates flows/scripts to analyze and test design methodologies. Specifies materials, equipment and supplies required for completion of projects. Evaluates vendor practical capabilities to provide required products or services. Responsible for designing, deploying and testing efficiency of tools to utilize in achieving design goals and collaborating with design teams on methodology development. Design Automation Engineers are advocates of applying design methodologies to help execute projects effectively and successfully with high quality.


Qualifications

Education

Candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science degree with at least 5 years additional experience or a Master of Science degree with at least 3 years additional experience, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in IC Design or Computer Aided Design CAD
  • 2+ years of experience in setup/use/support of data management tools integrated with virtuoso platform
  • 2+ years of experience in scripting skills, especially TCL and PERL Python a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in Cadence Virtuoso Layout XL/Space-Based Router, Cadence Schematic Editor, Skill Programming Development and P-cell automation

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of CMOS VLSI, device models, device formation, semiconductor layers
  • Strong problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in Virtuoso platform - schematic editor, layout editor, ADE environment, tech file, streamIn
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and highly self-motivated.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and customer support.
  • Self-motivated technical leader.
