System Software Development Engineer

Job Description

Intel Network and Edge(NEX) software group seeking candidates with product development experience in Virtualization technologies. Successful candidates will be part of system software development team enabling KVM/Multi-OS(Windows, Ubuntu, Android), Graphics and Display Virtualization technologies in Intel SoC platforms supporting Software defined Network and Edge use cases. Job Responsibilities includes 1) Responsible in owning development of modules in Virtualization technologies (OS,Graphics,Display) and Debug/Fix various issues reported. 2) Integrating Qemu, SR-IOV, Kernel Integration and adaptation to Guest OS. 3) Power Management of Guest VM, running guest VMs during host suspend/hibernate/resume. 4) Launching multiple VMs with SR-IOV Multi-Display support in Guest VM GPU/display virtualization and device passthrough configuration. 5) Automation framework for KVM Multi-OS platform validation. 6) Integration activities for milestone releases, BKC (Best Known Configuration), user guide preparation to customer enablement team. 7) KVM Multi-OS Validation (LibVirt), Integration and Release activities.

Qualifications

1) Applicants should have a B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer science / Electronics and Communications or Equivalent with 10+yrs of exp. 2) Strong C/C++ programming skills with experience with modular software design in Intel architecture. 3) Software Product development experience in Windows/ Linux OS kernel driver development and architecture. 4) Strong Windows / Linux Graphics ,Display driver development knowledge. 5) Strong Windows driver development knowledge in IO, Ethernet and Storage. 6) Debug/triage with Windbg, gdb, kdb, different debugging tools like GPUView, ETL tracing, WPT, analyzing crash dumps. 7) Debugging/triage and testing in Windows / Linux user space drivers and modules. 8) Familiar with source code management systems (e.g. GITHub) for professional software development. 9) Good Experience with Silicon Power On device driver bring up like 3D, Display, Media, Kernel Mode drivers,PCIe,HDMI 10) Good Experience with Ubuntu/Andriod/Windows OS Bring Up in Virtualized environment using KVM. 11) Good experience in debugging, performance optimization, functional, stress and stability issues.Root cause issues in the correct component. 12) Should be willing to work in highly cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary and cross-geographic locations. 13) Strong analytical and communication skills is a must.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
