Job Description


Intel’s IDM 2.0 strategy and site selection has transformed the Intel European portfolio into one of the largest greenfield expansions in history. The successful candidate will support the entire suite of Construction and Facilities Supply Chain (CFSC) contracting and commercial needs across Ireland, Germany, Poland, and flex across Israel.

The Contract Specialist is a critical position within the Contracting and Commercial Centre of Excellence (CCCoE) team, which provides a competitive advantage to Intel through subject matter expertise in the field of Contract Lifecycle Management.

Intel performs various types of construction worldwide to support its primary businesses. This includes mega projects such as the construction of new semiconductor factories to smaller manufacturing retrofits and office upgrades. Intel uses a variety of contract delivery and compensation strategies to accomplish this work that range from turnkey lump sum to highly collaborative integrated forms of agreement. In addition to construction, including construction materials and equipment, our organization manages the supply chain for utilities, real estate, and facilities maintenance.  

The successful candidate will need to be flexible and learn to prioritize their workload. In general, this role will be responsible for providing contract leadership for all aspects of developing and implementing the Intel portfolio of construction strategies at Intel's EMEA facilities. Intel typically sources local secondee attorneys to support the mega projects and the contract specialist will work closely with them to deliver comprehensive solutions to meet the project and local requirements.  Intel also has a Contract Specialist and Contract Manager program to enable continuous learning and development of business and technical acumen, including an internal training program.

Part of the responsibilities would be:

  • Oversee and assist with negotiating, structuring, and management of contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors, customers and/or partners.
  • Review documents that protect the company's contractual position and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Liaison with the Intel Law Department (Construction Legal) and Intel's construction procurement contract managers (FCM's) on the above and keep them apprised of developments at the site.
  • Work with local secondee attorneys to ensure compliance with local laws.
  • In conjunction with Construction Legal, and secondee attorney advise site and corporate construction management of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of terms and conditions.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional degree necessary to become a lawyer, such as Juris Doctorate or LLB, or post graduate qualification in construction law or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction contract drafting and claims counselling, including experience handling claims and dispute resolution.
  • 5+ years' experience working with superior counselling skills with emphasis on practical solutions to business and legal needs.
  • 5+ years' experience in construction practices and procedures, including industry contract forms or inhouse templates.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to draft complex agreements.
  • Ability to draft high quality complex agreements.
  • Ability to identify legal issues affecting procurement and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and team working skills.
  • Willing to work independently without significant supervision in support of client needs.

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
