As a Facilities Mechanical Strategic Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support Facilities technology, development for Intel's network of manufacturing sites worldwide.
  • Provide Facilities engineering leadership to Intel's network of manufacturing sites worldwide for process technology transfers in support of Safety, Reliability, Quality, Environmental, and Cost objectives.
  • Own safety within the area of influence.
  • Ensure systems operate reliably to avoid manufacturing/facility or environmental excursions, own system documentation, and maintenance strategy.
  • Provide direct support and maintain periodic communication with key suppliers to ensure the latest and most cost-effective solutions and technical accuracy aremaintained in master specifications and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with safety, code, and Intel standards as well as study opportunities to reduce cost and improve schedule.
  • Communicate tactical concepts across a wide range of employees engineering peers to operational technicians to management.
  • Support major program facility design and sustainingefforts for HVAC and Vacuum systems.
  • Develop and present comprehensive technical proposals, concepts, and analysis in Mechanical Facility System Design feature to both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Work in a collaborative environment, partner with engineering team peers to ensure cross-discipline connections are understood and accounted for.
  • Act as technical mentor to engineering staff.
  • Lead capacity analysis studies and model developments.
  • Initiate and execute cost reduction projects related to utilities and consumables.
  • Develop and improve cost models for mechanical systems.
  • Support engineering system owners in troubleshooting systematic and complex system related issues
  • Develops engineering scope of work for mechanical projects and provides engineering design review and evaluation of mechanical systems.
  • Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs, directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication.  
  • Partners with operations and maintenance team to ensure mechanical systems are maintained and operated within specified limits.
  • Develops mechanical systems roadmap and asset replacement strategy to ensure reliability, redundancy, and capacity are available for expansion of existing facilities, renovation, and growth.
  • Drive system performance and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. 

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have at least one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field with 3+ years of experience.
  • PhD in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field with 1+ years of experience.

Experience requested above should be in one of the following fields:

  • Facilities and/or maintenance operations.
  • System engineering, and design/construction of mechanical systems (HVAC and Vacuum systems) and associated controls.
  • Process Cooling Water - pumps, heat exchangers, piping systems, and controls; Boilers, combustion and emissions, Chilled Water Plants, piping, and controls).
  • OFA compressors, dryers and associated controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills to professionally present to peers and leadership at site at cross-site meetings and actively participate in cross-site tasks as directed.
  • Experience with: Statistical Process control.
  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Experience Commissioning Mechanical equipment or systems.
  • Project planning, coordination and integration.
  • Maintenance Science or Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • Experience Conducting Mechanical system design reviews.
  • PE Registration.
  • EIT certification.
  • Experience in the following:
    • HVAC, Vacuum Systems, Boilers, Chillers, Compressed Air, Cooling Towers and Cooling Water process.
    • Maintenance, Operation, and system design.

Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
