Employees in the Foundry Technology Development group are part of a worldwide network of design, research, development, manufacturing, and assembly/test facilities, all focused on utilizing the power of Moore's Law to bring smart, connected devices to every person on Earth. Within Intel's Components Research (CR), the labs are responsible for inventing and demonstrating revolutionary new devices to ensure Intel's future technology leadership. This position is for research lab operations engineer to support and enable this work through both tool support and research lab program support.

Research lab operations engineers are responsible for:

  • Executing lab activities related to semiconductor processing.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are kept up-to-date, understood, and followed by all users.
  • Training and mentorship of technicians and other engineers on various workflows and tools.
  • Basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Working closely with device, integration, other module engineers, and technicians to execute work for our various customers.
  • Continuously improving workflows and procedures to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Communicating and coordinating experiments in the lab, both at the daily morning passdown and throughout the day as circumstances change.
  • Contribute regularly to internal research program working groups.
  • Interactions with academia and consortia to incorporate world-class best known methods.

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 1+ years' experience or
  • Master's degree in chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline

Preferred Requirements:

  • Fluent in at least one programing language.
  • Experience with photolithography
  • Experience with chemical handling and safety.
  • Experience with fab or lab processing or other hands-on material processing or analysis
  • Experience with metrology and data analysis
