Windows Administration Intern

Job Description

This is an internship position

Responsibilities may include:

Engineering Computing is looking for motivated students to participate in a year round internship program in Hillsboro Oregon. Candidates in our program start by learning systems administration from the ground up with hardware support and installation and are given opportunities to contribute to more diverse aspects of the computing environment as skill, talent and drive dictate. Areas of development include software development, virtualization, enterprise storage, external collaboration and a host of other possibilities within IT. Successful candidates are eligible to continue to participate in the program through to graduation with a goal to create hiring opportunities for successful participates within Intel IT post-graduation.

Candidate should have experience with:

  • Window Server Administration
  • Server OS Provisioning of Physical and Virtual systems Windows - 2008/R2, 2012/R2, 2016 
  • Configuration, DNS, IP, RAID, Volumes  - ILO management setup and configuration HP ProLiant and Blade series Post builds
  • Application installations following EC documentation, 3rd party 
  •  Windows server inventory management Add/Change/Delete Configuration Item in the database i.e. Owner, Tier, Service/Support group, EOL's 
  • Server monitoring & audit & administration
  • access to users, event log and health check logs 
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness in addressing new upgrade projects or issues that have little or no documentation to begin with. 
  •  Windows patching  - Incident & Request Ticket issues resolution quick turnaround time on SLA/MTTR- Windows Server Virtualization
  • Remote Global Support 
  • Assist all monitoring tickets that come to the queue  
  • Access management - server access, file services DFSr
  • Only requests and Windows, VM's - Hyper-V & VMWare


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

- Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.

- This U.S. position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Experience with Windows systems administration
