Wireless Standards Research Intern

Job Description

Next Generation and Standards team, NGS, within Intel is responsible for researching, developing, prototyping and standardizing compelling Intel advanced technologies for next-generation wireless systems. This team is looking for a candidate to work as a Wireless Standards Research Intern responsible for technology development and performance evaluation towards the next generation wireless networks. As part of this team the candidate will be responsible to contribute to technology innovations and technical solutions on LTE/WLAN evolution and 5G, contribution  to 3GPP and IEEE standards groups through theoretical analysis and simulation will be part of the scope.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience. This is an intern position and will be compensated accordingly.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a Masters or PhD  in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,  Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience on wireless technologies including: OFDM, device-to-device, relay, heterogeneous network, interference management, cooperative network, massive MIMO and mm Wave communications.
  • Minimum of 3 months experience programming in C/C++, Mat lab, OPNET or NS-3.

Preferred Qualifications

This position also requires solid understanding of wireless access network communication principles and strong knowledge on PHY/MAC layer, network layer, cross layers design and inter-dependency.

Strong knowledge on wireless systems including LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The position will require to work in a multi-discipline team to design and develop a complete wireless communications system.

The job requires good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

The successful candidate is self-motivated, proactive, work effectively with internal and external groups.

In this position creativity, problem-solving in 4G and 5G wireless systems will be required.
