Our group has an opening for a motivated Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers developing new tools and capabilities to serve our diverse and growing customer base.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with internal and external teams to deliver high quality tools and capabilities that are in high demand by our Data Center customers.
You will be accountable for Software Tools definition & delivery, while leading development, deployment & debugging of a wide variety of pre- and post-silicon customer tools and capabilities.
You will own setting process & direction for methodology & tools teams, including scope, requirements management and quality assurance.
This role will involve estimating project timelines, tracking and reporting technical progress, and owning integration, delivery and customer enablement & support.
This is a high touch role that provides the opportunity to set up and accelerate Customer Success responsiveness and team effectiveness, along with heavy customer interfacing.
This person is also accountable for Security, Compliance, Import/Export controls, etc. for the defined scope.
Own software delivery enablement and contribute to technical strategy, design and development of DCG Customer Tools & Capabilities for Hardware Debug & Validation
Manage all aspects of team management and leadership including organizational growth/health, hire/fire, forward planning, budgets, partnerships and escalations
Coach & ensure modern software development lifecycle processes to product development, including: requirements gathering, planning, design, implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment enablement.
Lead evaluation, recommendations and implementation of technologies for all aspects of our portfolio, including: automation, monitoring, logging, security, serviceability, IP protection, and compliance, as required.
Bridge technical product aspects between Intel product engineers, Intel platform application engineers and Customer stakeholders
Communicate and work with Intel employees, Outsourced/contract workers, internal service providers & partners, as well as product customers/partners on integrating solutions
Remain informed of new technologies and practices, and share industry learnings
Compare and evaluate multiple technologies and their impacts on performance, development, and maintainability, in a dynamic Customer priority driven environment
A full-stack polyglot, with experience with languages such as: C, C++, Python, etc.
-Must be able to build strong positive relationships across organizations & sites, and lead with influence, toward win-win-win solutions
-Must be the voice of technical reason and authority, and make tough software delivery decisions, including negotiations with upstream & HW methodology teams on their scope/schedule and quality.
-Actively identify end-to-end software delivery optimization opportunities and technical areas of improvement, with a singular focus on sustainable Customer value
-Work closely with the team and partners on defining and implementing effective technical processes and practices, driving the maturity of the team, while supporting the required fluidity necessary to improve the customers' experience with our tools-Be the voice of software quality via Continuous Integration & Automation, towards higher agility, quality, productivity and predictability
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
-10+ years overall software development experience in product development/software program management, partner enablement, or consulting, with at least 4 years directly managing a team solid line reporting.
-Must show strong, proven, independent capabilities and the ability to coach and lead others, in a cross-Geo setting
-Experience with end-to-end software development practices such as SW Program Management, Quality Assurance, Secure development lifecycles SDL, Software Legal Compliance, IP security, import/export controls, etc.
-Sound technical judgment, presentation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while focusing on shared goals and successes.
-Knowledge of cross-OS tools, technologies, and concepts, and the ability to learn & prototype cutting-edge development.
-Knowledge of Linux & Windows systems while comprehending hardware debug & validation tool usages
-A self-starter Technical Lead and/or Scrum Master, and with a demonstrated ability to work as a team player
-The ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, including internationally
-Knowledge of Hardware Simulation e.g. Simics and/or Signal Integrity & Electrical Validation will be a significant plus
-Agile and iterative development Scrum experience and a willingness to adapt to Customer
-Experience with end-to-end continuous integration, automation, deployment, and delivery.
