As part of the Platform Engineering Group (PEG), the Product Development Solutions Group (PDS) provides the central methodology and flow solutions that enable the development of leading edge SoCs across Intel’s product portfolio. The Communications methodology team within PDS provides tailored solutions for the design of 5G Modem Basebands, Radio-Transceivers, Power-Management IC’s and Connectivity-SoCs that power Intel’s aspiration in the smart, connected world.

As the leader of the Digital Design Implementation Methodology RTL to GDSII team will work with highly skilled engineers to develop and support highly competitive SoC methodology and flow solutions in leading edge technology nodes. You and your team will enable the basis for providing outstanding products to our customers. To succeed in this highly competitive environment we are looking for a leader that fosters a culture of high performance, agility, flexibility and nimbleness.Your major accountabilities cover technical management tasks in the area of Synthesis, Place & Route, CTS, UPF based Power methodology, and Layout closure:

  • Work closely with Intel's product teams to understand their requirements from a technical and schedule/business perspective.
  • Plan, staff and drive development projects to provide and support best in class methods specific to 5G radio-, connectivity-, baseband- and IoT devices.
  • Drive innovation to address productivity, low power and low cost. Prepare and present reports outlining the outcome of technical projects and make recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results.
  • You work closely with EDA partners and establish relationships to academia.
  • Continuously develop the team to maintain highest technical standards and according mind sets required: set priorities for the team, get results across boundaries, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees, and manage performance.
  • You select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


The suited candidate has substantial experience in SoC development or in related design automation engineering functions ideally experiences in leading according teams. Skills should include:

  • Experience in digital design and implementation of complex SoCs using advanced technology nodes 28nm and below
  • Functional line management and people development
  • Project management skills- Strong interpersonal and very good verbal/written communication skills
  • Role model collaboration across geographies and organizations


  • Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Phd/MS or BS with 10+ years of relevant experience
