Oregon Community Engagement Intern

Job Description

Corporate Services CS provides Intel employees the infrastructure and environment to create breakthrough technology that make amazing experiences possible. Our Public Affairs (PA) team is seeking an undergraduate intern to support Intel's global volunteer program operations in Oregon. The Intel Involved Program enables employees to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to communities by volunteering.

The choses candidate will report to the Oregon Community Engagement Manager in the Public Affairs group. Intel relies on its community engagement programs to enable its License to Operate within its site communities.


  • Engaging with employees, business groups, and community organizations to drive employee volunteer engagement.
  • Support the coordination and planning of strategic programs, campaigns, and sponsorships which include National Engineers Week, Earth Month, Matching Grant Celebration, and the Intern Day of Service.
  • Assist with internal communications for events and campaigns by developing content through various platforms including monthly newsletters, websites, blogs, print, and digital ads.
  • Analyze trends in volunteerism and develop strategies to increase employee participation.
  • Identify, plan and lead site-wide and business-unit volunteer projects with local nonprofit organizations.
  • Support volunteer project administration including creating volunteer projects in the online tool, data entry of volunteer hours, storing photo release records, and managing site wide donation drives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science of Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, Communications, Business Management or any other related field of study.
  • The candidate must have unrestricted right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Event planning experience
  • Capacity to work under tight deadlines and within flexible hours as necessary
  • Understanding and interest in Corporate Social Responsibility

**Part-time internship desired for 12-18 months.
