Field Engineer - (Data Science)

Job Description

As a Field Engineer, you are a vital member of Saffron’s Client Solutions and Services team.  The team is razor focused on executing projects to deliver Saffron’s value proposition to our customers.  You will work on proof of concepts, pilots, and production projects.  Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform exhaustive data analysis to understand the shape, volume, and relevance of the customer’s data. 
  • Leverage data store skills and data science techniques to extract features, manipulate data, and ready data for downstream processing. 
  • Leverage Saffron’s platform and products to properly represent customer knowledge, derive data insights, and deliver those insights through thoughtful user interfaces.   
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity such that Intel’s values are well represented in customer engagements. 
  • Engage with Saffron's data scientists and development teams as required to ensure successful implementation of the Saffron platform within a customer's environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Software engineering and Data Science / Machine Learning experience is a must.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a client facing capacity.
  • Ability to switch among multiple projects in short periods of time and sometimes support multiple projects.
  • Fluent in a modern programming language (Java, python, etc.)
  • U.S. Citizen (to qualify for US Defense Dept. security clearances as needed).
  • Fluent in a modern programming language (Python, Java, etc.), and related skills - SQL, JSON, XML, Http(s), RESTful APIs.
  • Conversant in Natural Language Processing and related tools (Stanford NLP, Apache OpenNLP, etc.).
  • Hands on experience with machine learning frameworks (Tensor Flow, Caffe, Spark, scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of public cloud services (AWS, Google, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience with a variety of data stores (relational, noSQL, graph, Hadoop, etc.).

Travel Expectations
Must be able and willing to manage between 25 to 90% domestic and/or international travel based upon project durations.
