Web Runtime Compiler Engineer

Job Description

The Window OS WOS Developer Tools and Runtimes team is searching for an energetic and passionate compiler engineer to join the Web Runtimes team! In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow and excel! This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team enabling and optimizing JavaScript features on the latest Intel Architecture. This role also provides you the opportunity to work on leading industry standards and cutting edge web technologies like Web Assembly (WASM). You will be part of an innovative project and utilize some of the latest Intel technologies and help us shape the future. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: Working hand-in-hand with a group of experienced engineers to extend the PC-Windows platform value in development tools and runtimes design, prototyping, implementation, and maintenance of features in support of Core and Atom architectures ranging from new instruction set architecture to code generation/optimizations for existing and future Intel uArch/SOCs. You will also work to analyze and optimize JavaScript engine component for power and performance.  You will work with Intel software and hardware design engineers and architects to shape the next generation of our processor and platform designs Carry out competitive performance analysis, root causing and bug resolution including customer bugs Interfacing with members of other tools and application teams within Intel as required



You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through relevant previous school, industry jobs and/or research experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or relevant field of study with 3-5 years of experience or Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or relevant field of study with at least 1 year of experience
  • Strong C/C++, JavaScript design and coding skills
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture
  • Strong background in compiler theory and development
  • Strong understanding of programming languages, compiler-related data structures, algorithms and optimizations
  • An independent and innovative thinker who communicates well and delivers results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing GCC, LLVM based or similar compilers.
  • Hands-on experience developing compiler prototypes
  • Experience in developing JIT compilers
  • Capable of analyzing benchmarks and application workloads to understand compilation issues and possible approaches for optimization of managed applications such as C, Java, Java Script
  • Experience developing, analyzing and tuning software for Power
  • Experience should include computer architecture and microarchitecture Intel x86/x64 Core and/or Atom
