Intel's Client Computing Group CCG generates over $30 billion of revenue each year for Intel. Engineering teams within CCG develop innovative, industry-leading technologies that drive many market categories, including personal computing, mobile products, eSports and virtual reality, smart & connected home, and other exciting areas. This team within CCG designs and develops systems and platforms with innovative, usage based technologies which showcase new Intel silicon and capabilities in order to expand the client computing landscape. The team is looking for a power delivery design engineer responsible for delivering next generation bench top designs, system proofs of concept PoC's and form factor designs. The engineer will work as part of a multidiscipline team ( hardware, software, mechanical, thermal, marketing, and ID) that defines, designs and develops these next generation systems. They will work on all aspects of the system electrical design and implementation including definition, architecture, schematic capture, review, BOM optimization, layout, power on, debug, and validation. The engineer will work with internal and external suppliers on key components definition/selection and will help drive the platform landing zone. The primary focus of this position is on power delivery. Candidates who also have experience and/or interest in adjacent design areas would be of additional help to this innovation team.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have the following qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 4 years of experience or Masters in Electrical Engineering/ Computer Engineering with 3 years of experience Experience with electrical design of motherboards and daughter cards. Experience in high-speed digital circuit board design. Experience with Cadence design tools and knowledge and experience in schematic capture and printed circuit board layout. Strong system power up and debug skills experience with oscilloscopes and other related laboratory test equipment. Ability to generate power map during system architecture phase, to evaluate trade-offs for different power delivery solutions, to implement power delivery circuits in schematics, and to optimize layout for power delivery in the PC. Enjoys hands-on work on hardware in a laboratory environment. Preferred Qualifications: Type 3 and Type 4 HDI PCB designs. Power delivery for Intel SoC's, including Core and Atom processors. Power validation techniques, including the Intel VR test tool (VRTT) Product design for high volume manufacturing. Battery designs, including battery specification and characterization, and battery charger circuits. PMIC and discrete power solutions. Experience in technical areas adjacent to power delivery, including design/debug of other analog and digital circuits.
