Electrical Validation Engineer

Job Description

The candidate will fulfill a leadership role at our Austin location's Analog Test and Validation (ATV) team, responsible for the analog/electrical validation and manufacturing test of Intel's next generation leading edge CPUs.  The scope of electrical validation and test includes developing validation strategies and also validating CPU Input / Output analog circuits and signals, covering Interconnect interfaces on the CPU, as well as the board and plug-in cards and Dual In-line Memory Module (DIMM) memory as part of the computer system.

In this role your job responsibility includes but is not limited to:

  • Lead the development and implement electrical validation strategy for CPU memory interfaces
  • Fill leadership positions in both silicon and platform debug to root cause issues and enable robust design fixes
  • Work with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement desired solutions
  • Use standard lab equipment for measurement and characterization, automate test systems to complete EV execution Interact with cross functional teams to provide electrical health assessment
  • Design, KIT, Pre-Si Validation, High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) test, and others as part of the whole Electrical Validation (EV) process


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering 
  • 4+ years’ experience in mixed signal design & validation, RTL design and/or scripting in pre or post Si environment
  • Experience with high speed analog and digital circuits of CPU Input / Output

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software development, demonstrated proficiency with Python, C/C+
  • Experience with hardware lab with test equipment, computer systems, and/or test stations
  • Good knowledge of high speed hardware design including schematic capturing and layout design is a plus 
  • Experience with signal integrity and power delivery network, is a plus
  • Experience with DDR3/4, LPDDR3/4, U/R/LR DIMM JEDEC standards is a strong plus
  • Experience leading teams
