Research interns investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Executes laboratory research. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in development of intellectual property. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts. Typically working towards a PhD. This right person for this position will contribute to one of several aspects of Intel Architecture research including: - Power/area/performance driven architecture and microarchitecture optimization of CPU, GPU, interconnect fabric and SoC platform architecture - Logic design and RTL development - RTL-to-GDS synthesis and layout optimization - FPGA emulation and prototyping of key design IP and SoC - Workload enabling, analysis and optimization - Architectural migration and optimization of non-IA workload to IA and IA SoC.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
The candidate must be pursuing a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
6+ months of experience working with computer architecture and microarchitecture design and optimization, CPU, GPU, communication processor, accelerator.
6+ months of experience working with RTL design and familiarity with RTL-to-GDS flow/methodology.
6+ months of experience working with FPGA emulation and prototyping.
6+ months of experience working with workload analysis and optimization.
6+ months of experience working with firmware, system software, operating system, Android, Linux, Windows internals.
6+ months of experience working with communication stacks, MAC layer, PHY layer, key communication algorithms and protocol standards.
6+ months of experience working with pre-silicon and/or post-silicon validation and debugging.
