Linux Data Center Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for functions in support of computing hardware for design engineering in Intel labs and datacenters. Executes and coordinates multi-team install process for computing hardware. Tests and troubleshoots computer hardware/software issues. Executes break-fix and process within specified service level agreements. Installs operating systems and troubleshoots basic install issues. Will perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Works with asset management and ticketing systems. Executes regular equipment audits. Interfaces with and manages working relationships with hardware vendor technicians. May script or program solutions to improve productivity. Adheres to physical and electronic security standards. Work performed within generally defined parameters. Will work with Systems Engineers to drive process and automation.
 


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

2+ years of technical support experience in Data Center/ or Technical Manufacturing/ or electrical field

2+ years experience with workstations and server hardware installation

Some experience with Linux/Windows Operating systems.

Additional Requirements:

Experience with equipment landing processes

Experience with asset management and inventory systems

Bonus Points:

A+ or Network+ certifications.

Experience scripting in Perl or Python

Associates degree or higher in related field or 3+ years datacenter operations experience.
