The thermal mechanical group is part of the Discrete Graphics Platform Design Engineering team and is responsible for thermal, mechanical, and acoustic design of discrete graphics cards. The team is an essential part of delivering Intel's 3D graphics, media, display GPU, and Parallel Computing Technology.
This position entails thermal, mechanical, and acoustic testing of graphics cards. The responsibilities may include thermal and mechanical design, depending on the candidate's ability.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Mechanical, thermal, and acoustic testing of graphics cards
2- Building computer systems and test setups
3- Developing scripts to automate test procedures and test reports
4- Preparing test reports
5- Data analysis
6- Data presentation including analysis and recommendation to larger team
7- Vendor management and communication
8- Design of test fixtures
Qualifications
Skills and Experience Requirements
Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in computer science, Electrical engineering or similar STEM discipline.
1- 3+ Months experience with Labs skills such as test setup preparation and data acquisition.
2- 3+ Months experience with Data analysis including experience working with programming languages in Excel
3- 3+ Months experience 3D modeling and mechanical design skills using Creo (at a minimum a good working knowledge of SolidWorks is required)
What You Will Learn
1- Thermal, mechanical, acoustic design/test principles for discrete graphics cards
2- Product design considering all engineering aspects (cost, project timeline, etc.)

1- Applicable work/experience in a lab environment
2- A computer enthusiast with knowledge of PC technology
3- Experience in discrete graphics add-in cards/systems and building your own PC
4- Programming/Scripting languages such as C, C++, Perl, Python
5- Good written and oral communication skills
6- Comfortable working within a team atmosphere as well as independently
