NEX SW PID Linux OS Team

Job Description

High level what we do:
Enables NEX platform features in Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Wind River, RHEL, etc) and maintain the Intel Yocto BSP layers for Yocto Project that is used across Intel by various teams, ISVs and by customers.

Linux OS Team is part of NEX SW Platform Ingredient Division (PID) team to enable NEX platform features in Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Wind River, RHEL, etc) and ensure out-of-box experience for OEM/ODMs and developers. Team maintains the Intel Yocto BSP layers for Yocto Project and works with OSVs. The candidate is responsible to work directly with external companies, open source communities and cross business units within Intel.

Qualifications

-Candidate needs an academic degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computational Science.

-Knowledge and hands on experience of Linux system software development with build configuration and customization is a must.

-Prior embedded Linux software development is a plus. Must understand open source development methodology and practice.

-Prior contributions to open source project is a plus.

-Fluent in Python, shell scripts, C/C++ and working experience using git as source control system.

-Prior working experience using agile development process is highly desirable.

-Good communication skill and able to work in a cross-geo team environments.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
