Job Description


DMO (Disaggregated Manufacturing Organization) will play an important role in Intel's recently announced IDM 2.0 strategy to meet the accelerating global demand for semiconductors. NM DMO (New Mexico Disaggregated Manufacturing Organization) F11x has a unique charter to not only deliver high-volume manufacturing (HVM) products but additionally design and develop Silicon Photonics (SiP), EMIB, and Foveros.

F11x is looking for an experienced Development Engineer capable of developing Wet Etch processes to meet the needs of next generation semiconductor devices. Defines, develops robust manufacturing processes to run, maintain, and troubleshoot for the NMDMO's development programs listed above. Collaborate with diverse teams to setup Wet Etch processes meeting integration needs. Technical owner of consumable characterization data methodology, analysis techniques, and recipe setup for quality control to optimize yield. Defines and implements Wet Etch roadmaps, quality control, failure analysis, and testing methodologies to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Leading wet etch process development activities enabling manufacture of innovative device architectures coupled with the realization of these architectures.

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments necessary to meet design specifications for their process.

  • Participate in development of intellectual property and develop the equipment necessary to exploit the understanding gained in research (in collaboration with equipment suppliers). Work effectively with the equipment supplier to identify shortcomings, propose and evaluate hardware modification to mitigate issues.

  • Partner with area engineers, technicians, integration, Shift Group Leader (SGL), and management to enable develop commitments for their aligned tech node.

  • Work to gain in-depth knowledge of their materials, process, and equipment to meet quality, reliability, cost, yields, and product development timelines. Define HVM transfer deliverables for their module.

  • Partner with Process Integrators to develop recipes for new product demands.

  • Drive improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment, and operating personnel.

  • Define and establish flow, procedures, and equipment configuration for the module.

  • Train production/receiving process engineers, engineering, and manufacturing technicians for transfer to other factories.

  • Transfer process to high volume manufacturing and provide support in new factory startup as well as install and qualification of the new production lines.

  • Consumable screening and initial BKM creation.

  • Development of novel process recipes.

Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees; plus, the years of experience required for each degree in the areas specified below:

BS, MS or PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.

  • BS with 4+ years of industry experience or

  • MS with 3+ years of industry experience or

  • PhD with related research experience in wet etch process, and familiar with clean room protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in processing techniques, materials, and metrology relevant to Wet Etch.

  • Experience with material characterization techniques.

  • ​Experience in design of experiments (DOE), data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
