Linux Integration/DevOps Engineer Intern

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Linux Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge products. As a Linux Integration/DevOps Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for OS image creation and driver packaging for various Linux distributions. You will have opportunity to contribute to our CI. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring the seamless integration of our software with different Linux environments.

What you will able to do/learn:

• Create customised OS images for different Linux distributions, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
• Package and distribute drivers for various Linux distributions, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate the software on different Linux distributions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to driver packaging.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the Linux ecosystem and recommend improvements to enhance our software's compatibility and performance.
• Work with Jenkins, GitHub Actions and similar tooling to enable required CI/CD flows.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with different Linux distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, and CentOS.
• Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and customisation tasks.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to driver installation and system configuration.
• Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.

Nice to have (not required - you will have chance to learn everything) :

• Experience with embedded Linux systems and cross-compilation techniques.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Understanding of security best practices and hardening techniques for Linux distributions.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
