Job Description

Intel's NAND Design, Technology, and Manufacturing Group, NAND-DTM, is looking to hire outstanding device engineers to be part of the team that develops industry-leading NAND Flash memory technology.

We have exciting opportunities for qualified candidates looking to join the team working on NAND Flash media architecture and integration.

In this job, you will have the opportunity to work on leading-edge terabit-scale non-volatile memory chips and push the boundaries of 3D NAND Flash technology by solving problems in a broad area that ranges from fundamental device physics to NAND component-system interactions.

You will be part of a team responsible for defining NAND media architecture, SSD policies for NAND media management, and inventing as well as reducing to the practice of new NAND features to improve density, performance, and quality/reliability. In addition, you will work in cross-functional teams to resolve NAND technology scaling challenges using semiconductor devices, circuits, and algorithm approaches to deliver world-class NAND components generation after generation. You will work closely with the product and system teams to ensure seamless integration of the memory components into systems.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Direct experience with characterization.
  • Data analysis.
  • Modeling of the observed NAND memory device/array characteristics.
  • Problem-Solving in engineering the NAND memory components to achieve the highest level of performance, quality, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Good teamwork.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Technical problem-solving.

This position is associated with the sale of the NAND business to SK Hynix aligning to Phase 2 of the transaction. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm, a stand-alone US subsidiary of SK Hynix headquartered in San Jose, California with offices world-wide. Solidigm is a leading global supplier of NAND flash memory solutions, led by Robert (Rob) B. Crooke as CEO, previously senior vice president and general manager of Intel's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group.
