Light Field Video Experiences Research Leader
We are looking for a senior researcher with expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning with applications in Computational Imaging and Immersive Media for Telepresence and Metaverse applications. Research will also include algorithms for Neural Representations and Neural Rendering approaches with an emphasis on real-time performance. Expertise in camera hardware, algorithms, and software development are required to create complete solutions. In addition to creating a strategic technical vision, technology roadmaps, and establishing and driving a research agenda, the candidate needs to be able to conduct hands-on research and implement optimized algorithms. The candidate will also work with business group partners to productize Intel Labs' technology, and work with ecosystem partners to create practical solutions.
As a Principal Engineer, the candiate will build Machine Learning based products/solutions which provide descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive models based on data. This includes using or developing machine learning algorithms such as supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, Bayesian analysis, and/or others to solve applied problems in various disciplines such as data analytics, computer vision, and robotics.
The candidate will interact with users to define requirements for breakthrough product/solutions in either research environments or specific product environments, and utilize current programming methodologies to translate machine learning models and dataprocessing methods into software. The candidate will complete programming, testing, debugging, documentation and/or deployment of libraries.
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
PhD in Computer Science /Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical degree with 10+ years of experience.
Expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, Computational Imaging and Immersive Media
Expertise in Multi-Camera systems hardware, software and algorithms
Expertise in Machine Learning algorithms for Computational Imaging and Computer Vision
Expertise in algorithm optimization for specific HW (CPU, GPU, etc.) and product level software development
Skills in programming in Linux and Windows environments
Competent in C, C++, with an excellent understanding of computer science/computer architecture fundamentals including multithreaded design/parallel computing
Expertise in cloud-based SW solutions for streaming platforms
Expertise in creating a strategic technical vision and technology roadmaps
Track record of establishing and driving a research agenda
Expertise in leading teams as technical leader and manager in applied Research and Development
Interacting with customers in the design and deployment of successful solutions will be a plus.
Ability to work well in a highly ambiguous environment where tasks and priorities may change quickly without warning
