Job Description

The IT User Experience (UX) team is looking for a Student Designer to join our agile team of UX designers and researchers who work to deliver good experience for Intel's applications and systems.

The successful candidate will be doing a course of study in computer science, UX design or other related field of study.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Apply user centered design techniques and principles to development, including rapid, iterative user interface design and design evaluation.
  • Responsible for designing information structures and navigation, task flows, and wireframes with view descriptions specifying the detailed content and behavior.
  • Specifies display texts, icons, graphics and additional custom widgets.
  • Understanding of user functionality vs. systems functionality.
  • Group user, systems functions and information into a cohesive structure.
  • May also help create or maintain re-usable pieces of code, icons or other designs for our internal design system used for Intel applications.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:

  • Candidate must be an active student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI - Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science or related course of study.
  • Basic coursework in user experience, human factors, design and/or computer science.
  • Some beginning design and developer skills to include one or more of the following:
    • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
    • Angular, React frameworks.
    • Bootstrap.
    • C.
    • SQL.
    • Prototyping.
    • Design Systems.
    • Heuristic Evaluation.
    • Personas.
    • User Journey maps.
    • Storyboarding.
  • Advanced English level.

The following preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:

  • One of more of the following design or development skills:
    • Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
    • Figma.
    • Data Visualization.
    • PostgreSQL.
    • Npm.
    • Git.
    • SSIS.
    • PowerBI.
    • Axure RP or Adobe XD or Microsoft Visio.

Inside this Business Group
Intel's Information Technology Group (IT) designs, deploys and supports the information technology architecture and hardware/software applications for Intel. This includes the LAN, WAN, telephony, data centers, client PCs, backup and restore, and enterprise applications. IT is also responsible for e-Commerce development, data hosting and delivery of Web content and services.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
