Job Description

Intel performs various types of construction worldwide to support its primary businesses. This includes mega projects such as the construction of new semiconductor factories to small retrofits of manufacturing and office facilities. Projects require services as well as Materials and Equipment.

Intel uses a variety of contract delivery and compensation strategies to accomplish this work, that range from turnkey lump sum to highly collaborative integrated forms of agreements.

This role supports Intel's Ongoing Construction Programs. Specifically, this position is responsible for providing contract leadership, education, and support for all aspects of Intel's Global Facilities Materials and Equipment (GFEM) strategies across the global portfolio.

Due to the varied nature of the job duties, the individual filling this role must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. The individual must also be adaptable to the changing needs of Intel's IDM 2.0 construction programs.
Finally, the individual must have a strong organization skills and the willingness to prioritize their workload.

This role reports to the Procurement Director for Global Engineering and Construction Services and is part of a high energy and dynamic Contracting and Commercial Center of Excellence (CCCoE) team, which sits within the Global Construction and Facilities Supply Chain organization (CECS).

As the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Oversee and assist with negotiating, structuring, and management of new contractual documents that establish, amend, or renew business relationships with vendors, customers, and/or partners.

  • Review notices, communications, and other documents that protect the company's contractual posture and ensure adherence to company policy.

  • Negotiate and prepare claim-settlement documents touching all aspects of Intel's construction portfolio.

  • Liaison with the Intel Law Department (Construction Legal) and Intel's Supply Chain Managers (SCM's) and Facilities Contract Managers (FCM's) on the above and keep them apprised of developments.

  • In conjunction with both Construction Legal and Corporate Services Legal, advise site and corporate Materials and Equipment Teams of contractual rights and obligations and provide interpretation of terms and conditions.

  • Prepare and present educational slides and deep-dives regarding new contract templates and/or changes to existing templates.

  • Provide analysis and guidance regarding commercial-risk exposure and responsive contractual postures.

  • Drafting and negotiation skills and excellent teaming willingness.

  • Contractual knowledge and a broad grasp of industry norms/standards.

  • Communication and organizational skills.

  • Willing to work independently without significant supervision in support of client needs.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:


The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:

  • The candidate must possess a Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in: materials and equipment contract drafting and claims counseling, including experience handling claims including mediation, and arbitration.
  • 5+ years' experience working with superior counseling skills with emphasis on practical solutions to business and legal needs.
  • 5+ years' experience in construction practices and procedures, including industry contract forms, relating to procurement of major capital equipment.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
