As a member of the Manufacturing Supply Chain Operations, you will be a full business partner vested in making the supply chain vision and mission a reality. Through business partnering and innovation, you will help drive sound business analysis and decisions while maintaining Intel's high standards of professionalism and integrity.

We have positions available near Portland, Oregon, and Phoenix, Arizona, and limited positions in Folsom, Santa Clara.

As the Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.

  • Acquire and maintain a technical understanding of products purchased.

  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.

  • Obtain materials, components, equipment, and services.

  • Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.

  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure the best quality at the best value.

  • May recommend cost-saving proposals including make versus buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.

  • At higher levels may require domestic or global expertise in assigned commodities.

This is an entry-level position and will be compensated accordingly. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:  

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field or an MBA.

  • This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in managing the overall strategy of the supplier account from initial selection, through product development, into high volume manufacturing HVM, and long-term sustaining support.

  • Experience in SAP enterprise or similar systems for order management and procurement-Skilled in planning and closing contract negotiations to achieve immediate and long-term affordability requirements.

  • Direct Supply Chain experience, and/or technical degrees.

  • Lean Six Sigma.

  • 1+ years of experience in supply chain management or engineering.

  • Specifically procurement, supplier selection, management, contract negotiations, logistics, distribution, materials management, and factory operations.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
