Software Engineering Manager
As a Software Engineering Manager within the Design Creation and Debug Group, you can expect to work on Intel PSG's System-on-Chip integration tool, Platform Designer, PSG's FPGA Debug Environment Tools such as SignalTap and System Console, and Eclipse-based Nios II Embedded Software Development Suite. The goal of this team is to make implementing powerful embedded hardware systems a straightforward and enjoyable task from design creation through debugging and performance optimization. The team is responsible for the full stack of these tools GUI, model and OS specific device drivers.

As the Software Engineering Manager in this position, you will need to have excellent project management skills with specific experience in leading a team of software engineers to work on complex Java desktop application development. Working within our matrix organization, you will need to work with respective project owners and technical leads to develop thorough understanding of full suite of projects, and work with our stakeholders to ensure on-time successful delivery of committed deliverables. On people management, you are expected to work closely with your team members to understand their career aspiration, create and execute development plans to help your team members to further develop their strengths or interests.
This position will have direct influence on our organization’s success and the adoption of our products, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
Work with stakeholders to understand each projects’ key objectives and participate in scoping and development of upcoming projects
Lead developers across software and embedded engineering to ensure we develop design flows that meet our customers' needs
Coordinate with remote counterparts on delineation of work across multiple teams spread across different timezones
Provide coaching assistance to team members as part of their career development
BS degree in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent and 8+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience in leading a team of software development engineers
Knowledge in software development lifecycle and project planning
Familiarity in software testing, build and release, DevOps is a plus
Familiarity with FPGA and embedded systems design flows is a plus
Familiarity with Nios II, ARM or RISC-V embedded software development environments is a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to influence across organization boundaries
