Intel has announced a major expansion of Intel’s production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. Planning has started, with construction expected to begin in the first half of 2023 and production planned to come online in 2027, subject to European Commission State aid approval and funding approval by the German authorities.

As a Site Master Plan Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • This role entails intensive planning & design efforts in various areas of this function, for this project and related projects 

  • Needs to have detailed knowledge of the licensing/permitting process.  Will be driving submissions and applications to local and government agencies with a view to securing our permits to build and operate ahead of need date. 

  • Needs to work closely with our Environmental and construction teams to ensure that our permit applications comprehend our requirements to operate.

  • Work with the utility system owners and utility providers, to document the Intel Magdeburg site infrastructure capacity.

  • Review building level demand values from utility models and complete capacity vs demand analysis at the utility infrastructure level.

  • Own the Site Master Plan utility growth assessment plan and run site growth scenarios to understand breakpoints and associated lead times to resolve.

  • Build relationships with Factory Managers, the Site Manager, and Technology Development groups, external utilities and the Factory Construction Enterprise organization.

  • Review and analyze measured data, determine next steps, and drive decisions with all stakeholders.

  • Important attributes are attention to detail and strict adherence to safety and quality.

The selected candidate must be willing to temporarily relocate to either Intel's Ireland or Israel Campusfor training assignments from 6 months to a year.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil with 4+ years of professional experience in an engineering or science discipline with a record of safety, quality, attention to detail, teamwork, and results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab and sub-fab environments as a facilities system or tool owner.

  • Hands-on experience with liquid and gas flow meters and temperature sensors.

  • Familiarity with Excel, JMP, statistics, and SCADA systems.

  • The final location is the Magdeburg site

  • The interim location of this role is Home Based Office until office premises will be available, ETA: Q4 2022
