The Facilities Chemical Engineer will be the primary owner responsible for implementing process transfer, system commissioning and integration safely, on time per schedule. Included in their scope are High Volume Manufacturing System Ownership and the responsibility for the compliance of design with Intel POR and Intel's Copy Exactly methodology. They will work with Area Managers and Project Engineers to ensure design includes critical system and operational requirements through collaboration via field walks, working groups and Issued-for-Construction design signoffs. The HVM System Owners are responsible for including commissioning-enabling scopes into the system design before the design drawings are issued for construction; by doing so, they ensure commissioning efforts, the operation, and the maintenance of the systems will satisfy all expectations.

As a Facilities Chemical Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with our Environmental and Planning teams to ensure our Mechanical and Liquid Industrial Waste Treatment (LIWS) systems are designed to be able to meet all the requirements of our Licenses and Permits at all times

  • Ensuring systems are Ops ready and integrated into operation per project schedule.

  • Successful transition of new systems and equipment to sustaining.

  • Support the planning and execution of system shakedowns.

  • Comprehend the criticality of system reliability, availability, and outages while correctly managing the associated risks.

  • Sustaining and continuously improving existing systems.

  • Support of simultaneous multiple projects, task forces, cross-site and cross-discipline teams, and incident resolution.

  • Commitment to safety, for yourself and those around you.

  • Skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse, high-performing team to achieve challenging goals.

  • Written, visual, and verbal communication skills in relation to technical topics.

  • This role entails intensive planning & design efforts in various areas of this function, for this project and related projects 

The selected candidate must be willing to temporarily relocate to either Intel's Ireland or Israel Campus' for training assignments from 6 months to a year.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have one of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, Bio-Chemical or Chemical Engineering, or closely related field with 4+ years of experience with bulk chemical systems, speciality or bulk gas systems, waste systems, or water systems.

  • Master's degree in Process Engineering, Bio-Chemical or Chemical Engineering, or closely related field with 2+ years of experience with bulk chemical systems, speciality or bulk gas systems, waste systems, or water systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in high purity gas or chemical manufacturing or delivery systems.

  • Functional Acceptance Testing or Commissioning.

  • Skills to work on diverse tasks in a highly dynamic environment.

  • Project planning coordination and integration.

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control, FMEA, JMP, Cimplicity, Maximo.

  • Focus on industrial, semiconductor, or cleanroom projects.

  • Knowledge of various troubleshooting techniques and the ability to apply them.

  • Skills to work with minimum direction, self-motivated, and own initiative.

  • The final location is the Magdeburg site

  • The interim location of this role is Home Based Office until office premises will be available, ETA: Q4 2022
