Employees of the Network and Edge Group (NEX) have an exciting opportunity before them: To grow Intel's leadership position in the rapidly evolving IoT market by driving end-to-end distributed computing - focusing on our silicon platform, real time networking, and workload consolidation at the edge. The group utilizes assets from across all of Intel in such areas as edge computing, industrial automation, retail, automobiles and aerospace. The NEX team is dedicated to helping Intel drive the next major growth inflection through productivity and new business models that are emerging as a result of IoT.
We are offering a student internship position (f/m/d) to help us growing our testbed environment. You will be involved in the development and implementation of benchmarks, support our engineering team in growing the Web based automation of our testbeds, and develop little SW tools that eases the developers work. In this position you will be able to sharpen your profile in the understanding of Industrial Control software, workload consolidation, benchmarking, automation by using state-of-the-art tools and become part of a cross-geo Edge Computing development team. You will support us on the proof of concept for new technologies and help us on developing new features.
Please note that in order to be taken into consideration for this role, you need to be enrolled in a study program for the whole duration of the internship.


Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master student in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or similar field
- Good understanding of Linux in embedded systems (Raspberry Pi, Intel SoC)
- Good background in Python
- Language: fluent in English

Preferable Qualifications:
- Experienced in practical work on embedded systems
- Understanding of benchmarks
- Experience with automation and remote access

Please note that the student needs to be enrolled for the full duration of the student employment.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
