The Pathfinding Overall Integrator role within the Foundry Technology Engineering (FTE) of Global External Manufacturing and Sourcing (GEMS) is chartered to examine the interaction of process and design rule definition with overall process integration including implications to performance/power, area, cost, yield, manufacturability, and product ramp strategy. In this role, you will be working with world-leading technology and design experts on advanced technology pathfinding and definition. This is an integral technology role within the external manufacturing System-Technology Co-Optimization (STCO) framework. The role will be performed with domain experts across various areas of Foundry Technology Engineering, IP and Product design groups within Intel.

This role will focus on technical trade-offs and decisions during the definition phases of the technology, to ensure that what Intel has a long-term view of the external manufacturing landscape. This will enable Intel to build its products using the best technology available in a given timeframe, for the appropriate market segments of interest. A Pathfinding Overall Integrator plays a key role by bringing together a diverse set of domain experts to drive technology definition, and will heavily leverage assessment of process capability, and invention of process integration flows.

The key focus is as follows: The primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • n+2 and n+3 technology platform definition
  • Technology architecture based on co-optimization of standard cell, device, memory, and analog I/O requirements, with focus on manufacturability and time to market
  • Process flow and process assumption development to meet technology design rule requirements
  • Works collaboratively to set the framework for what, how and why foundries are making certain technical choices
  • Works with the business units and design teams to understand technology platform requirements to ensure product, process and IP mix leads to competitive offerings.
  • Ensure the technical and management team is able to focus on the decision at hand by facilitating the right decision frame and the requisite data.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science, Physics, Materials Science or other related field of study.
  • Ph.D. with minimum of 10 years of experience, or M.S. or B.S. with minimum of 15 years of experience in a factory environment, silicon process technology development, process integration or unit process expertise, Technology Development Yield Engineering, product ramp.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in one or more of the following (having more than one will be preferred):

  • Advanced knowledge of process integration: FEOL, MEOL, BEOL, and FBEOL loops
  • Advanced knowledge of unit process and tool platforms across FEOL, MEOL, BEOL and FBEOL loops
  • Si foundry experience

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
