Design Automation and CAD Engineer
Foundry Technology Engineering (FTE) group under Global External Manufacturing and Sourcing (GEMS) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to be part of an exciting engineering team dedicated to enabling and supporting Foundation IPs for Intel design projects to be successful on external foundry process technologies.
The candidate will help support the FTE Group's use of Engineering Compute resources by:
� Assisting with optimizing CAD job flows to work with job schedulers
� Supporting users in the most productive and efficient use of compute farm and storage resources
� Assist in forecasting compute and storage needs on a per project basis
� Monitor utilization trends to forecast and proactively address issues before those issues can impact engineering activities
� Assist in migrating job flows across different hub zones and sites
This is a technical customer support role in which communication, knowledge of database management, design automation, EDA workflows/lifecycles, LINUX system administration, and Intel HPC tools is key to success. You will interact with engineering on technologies and services related to NFS, VNC, Linux, Netbatch, EDA tools and licenses within large scale, global compute environments.
The ability to develop solutions, scripts (python, perl, csh, bash, etc) and/or processes to automate management of these services and tools is required. This is a high visibility role in ensuring productivity and efficiency across global engineering environments. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship
� Bachelor's degree and 5+ years supporting EDA tools and job flows in a large scale, global compute environment as a CAD Engineer, Design Automation Engineer, Compute Infrastructure Engineer, or Linux Systems Administrator.
� 7+ years supporting database management, design automation, EDA tools/license management and testing, and/or working with NetBatch and Intel specific tools, like ION, START and ICMS is a plus.
