Stress Lab Engineer
The Stress Engineering and Operations organization is looking for a dynamic, hands-on individual to join their environmental stress tool engineering team. SEO is part of Intel's Corporate Quality Network.
The Engineering team develops and maintains a fleet of equipment used to evaluate our silicon and package technology under simulated field use, including heat, humidity, temperature change, and dynamic stresses such as shock and vibration.
As data from these stresses are crucial to preserving Intel's quality and brand reputation, this role requires sound decision making, attention to detail, and a strong sense of personal ownership.
This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Characterization of equipment performance and response to excursions/issues.
Continuous improvement of methods, specifications, and training.
Development, analysis, and implementation of statistical process control.
Translation of stress requirements into development of new test setups.
Interaction with tool vendors and field service engineers.
Collaboration with internal operations, planning, and facilities teams.
In addition to the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following traits:
Strength in technical and analytical problem solving, especially using structured methodology such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.
Familiarity with statistical concepts such as, statistical data analysis and statistical process control.
Willingness to code in LabView and/or SQL languages.
Knowledge of reliability and failure modes/mechanisms common in electronic devices.
Critical performance skills include an intolerance of stagnant productivity; a desire to relentlessly pursue root cause and problem elimination; and pride in crisp, flawless execution with clear and direct communication.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Candidate must possess the degree by employment start date.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study.
1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
Electrical measurements (voltage, current, resistance), power supplies (preferably DC-DC), and of digital and analog circuits
Heat transfer, including convection and conduction, and heat management approaches in semiconductor device hardware
Applied Engineering project
Dynamic stress (vibration, shock) equipment.
