Job Description

In this position, you will be working as part of a pre-silicon firmware verification team for current and next generation Client SOC Products.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Creating test environments, checker strategies, and test generators for validating embedded power management firmware in the SOC.

  • Learning the FW architecture and related SOC architecture by debugging test failures to the root cause.

  • Developing and utilizing various software tools and/or methodologies with the goal to ensure highly functional firmware.

  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves subsystem and/or SoC design weaknesses.

  • Influences the shaping of future products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across design families.

  • Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field and 3+ years' experience; OR a Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field and 2+ years' experience ; OR a PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience with Firmware/Embedded Firmware development or verification.

  • Validation experience in a pre-silicon SOC design team or post-silicon validation team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High degree of comfort reading and interpreting technical specs, Firmware, and Register Transfer Level (RTL) code.

  • Highly developed debug skills.

  • Experience with UNIX or Linux work environments.

  • Good Software development skills, and Object Oriented programming experience.

  • Good understanding of Computer Architecture, and Power Management fundamentals.

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Ruby/Python programming.

  • Advanced SW development skills (Unit Testing, Test Driven Development).

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
