We’re seeking a benefits attorney to join Intel’s world-class Global Benefits and HR Mergers and Acquisitions Legal group. The attorney will provide support on a wide variety of U.S. employee benefits matters in collaboration with Intel's HR, Finance, Procurement, Tax, and Payroll teams.


  • Advise on the design, implementation, compliance and administration of U.S. retirement and health and welfare benefit programs, including but not limited to following:

    • Advising on the application of ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and the Internal Revenue Code and analyzing new statutory and regulatory developments

    • Drafting, reviewing and maintaining plan documents and summary plan descriptions

    • Providing input on and legal support for plan design, interpretation, and administration

    • Advising on fiduciary issues related to the investments and operations of retirement and health and welfare plans

    • Reviewing and negotiating vendor service agreements

    • Supporting benefits plan committees, including preparation of committee meeting materials and minutes, benefit plan governance documents and fiduciary training

  • Deliver effective and practical compliance counseling and advice with respect to the above

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues

  • Strong analytical and legal skills, and consistent good judgment and ability to apply legal knowledge to help create practical business solutions

  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and ability to constructively manage change

  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct

  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and influence employees at every level to embrace compliance initiatives

  • Desire to be part of a cohesive and supportive team environment


Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of employee benefits experience (including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and the Internal Revenue Code) in private practice, government service, and/or in-house role

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution and active membership in good standing in at least one state bar

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Particular expertise with HIPAA Privacy, Security and Breach rules

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
