Job Description

Come join the NAND Design team as a Senior NAND Design Validation engineer.

Play an integral role in helping qualify the next generation of Intel NAND Flash Memory.

Your responsibilities will be the following:

  • Validate NAND chip functionality, testability, and compliance power/performance/reliability specification.
  • Develop scripts/macros, and execute to collect data in the laboratory using state-of-the-art equipment such as wafer micro probing and characterization testers.
  • Analyze results, and create and present technical reports.
  • Understand the NAND chip operation technical details based on the datasheet, perform circuit and/or simulation analysis, firmware debug, signal analysis, and generate test macro sequences to validate/debug the product issues.
  • Work closely with Design, Product, Test, and Reliability Engineering teams as a vital part of the Product Development team with the end goal of qualifying the NAND device for production.


The position is associated with the sale of the NAND business to SK Hynix aligning to Phase 2 of the transaction. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm, a stand-alone US subsidiary of SK Hynix headquartered in San Jose, California with offices worldwide. Crooke as CEO, previously senior vice president, and general manager of Intel's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through school work, classes, and project work internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and the following:

  • 3+ years of combined experience in Memory Design, Product, Test, Yield, and Quality Engineering.
  • 1+ years’ experience in High-level programming languages such as C++, Perl, and Python.
  • 1+ years’ experience on various lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, voltage supplies, and/or parametric analyzers.


Preferred Qualifications
Master's in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and 2+ years of experience in the minimum qualifications, and in the following:

  • 3D NAND Flash Memory.
  • Memory Validation and/or Characterization.
  • Semiconductor Device Physics.
  • CMOS circuit design and verification.
  • Logic and Mixed-signal simulation.
  • Digital design language such as Verilog/VHDL.
  • Simulation tools like VCS Modelsim IUS.
  • Analog circuits like Pumps and Regulators.
  • Custom design environments such as Cadence Virtuoso.
