This is a good opportunity to work in Intel Network Platform Group, as a Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer, focus to enable Intel X86 new platforms architecture, foundation software and application usage models in 5G, Telecommunication, Networking, Edge Computing, and Cloud. The work scope is to provide architecture/solution, software enabling/engineering, performance competition response, and technical support on Intel Platforms in China key customers including Telco OEMs and Operators, and other valuable customers.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Handling Intel Networking and Telco Platform Reference Solutions and Software in 5G, Edge and Enterprise Network, and the Packet Processing Software building blocks, including Data-Plane Development Kit (DPDK), QuickAssist Technology (QAT), OVS DPDK, Virtualization, NFV, and Cloud Native technologies, etc.

Provides technical training, consultation, and hands-on assistance to customers and software developers in areas of architecting, technologies, code development, debug, testing, and/or tuning of SW/HW components.

Working closely with customers to understand their system and software architecture, to influence customer decision making on Adopting and Optimizing their solutions on Intel Platforms and Software building blocks, by indepth technical promotions, discussions, and joint software evaluations.

Working closely with Telco Operators and OEMs to do Performance Analysis and Benchmarking on Intel Platforms and the Competition Platforms, with active response, to technically secure and grow Intel market segment share.

Working together with Intel marketing and engineering teams on internal tasks, including Proof Of Concept setup, performance benchmarking aligning with customer requirements, and feedback China customer requests to influence Intel Platform reference solutions and software building block roadmap.

~10 percent of travel maybe required.


Qualifications

A Master or a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Electronic or Communication Engineering or relevant studies with more than 5 years of working experience in communication software design, software application engineering, IA Processor & Chipset software validation, networking protocols, Linux application development and debug. Preferred qualifications include:
-- Experience of Intel Architecture Processors, Software, Firmware, and applied to develop customer’s solutions.

-- Experience in communications platforms software/hardware architecture, hardware drivers and application development in Kernel/User Space.

-- Good understanding of Intel Platform Technologies such as DPDK, Intel QAT, SDN/NFV technologies.

-- Experience with software optimization tools and techniques such as Intel VTune, Performance Profiling, performance benchmarking and tuning technique, etc.

-- Experience in Linux bootloader/BSP, Linux driver, kernel development, and Network Interface Card (NIC) driver.

-- Good knowledge on Intel Virtualization Technologies, and VM, Container, K8S, Cloud Native, will be a big value add.

-- Could speaking and writing of English.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
