This job opportunity in IFS will be part of the Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) group which is responsible for the portions of the system foundry that brings the "best of Intel" technologies to IFS customers, differentiating and accelerating their solutions from architecture to post-silicon validation.
Job Description:

IFS is looking for Platform Hardware Design Engineers to contribute to post-Si team for building next generation validation/demonstration platforms. You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Identify, review, organize, and maintain platform requirements and corresponding hardware requirements

  • Design schematics and PCB layout, in compliance with industry standards and processes

  • Analyze system timing and signal integrity

  • Design power delivery solutions to meet energy efficiency, performance goals along with platform requirements

  • Define, implement, and analyze power delivery networks including 2D and 3D model extraction to meet platform specifications

  • Provide guidance to junior hardware designers, and review corresponding work

  • Lead design team and provide regular update to PDT and management

  • Define component placement and circuit trace routing rules, and oversees board layout from feasibility studies to board tape-out while meet multi-disciplinary platform-level requirements

  • Lead technical design reviews with stakeholders

  • Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) cost and availability data versus design trade-offs at the board and system levels

  • Define and execute board validation plan, perform system debug

  • Debug, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions

  • Provide support for hardware products throughout their Product Lifecycle (PLC)

  • Create Statement of Work (SOW) for various outsourcing activities, including but not limited to, board layout, mechanical design, board fabrication, and board assembly using Contract Manufacturer (CM)


Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • BSEE/BSCE or any STEM related degree with 8+ years of experience or MSEE/MSCE or any STEM related degree with 6+ years of experience in 3 or more of the following

  • Designing and debugging high speed boards

  • PCB circuit design, schematics, BOM, and board/system level debug

  • Analog and high-speed digital design knowledge/experience, analytical and debugging skills

  • Operate lab equipment including but not limited to DMM, logic analyzer, network analyzer, and oscilloscopes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with (and preferred to have working knowledge of) power design and power integrity analysis

  • Familiar with (and preferred to have working knowledge of) signal integrity analysis

  • Familiar with common communication protocols such as I2C, I3C, LPDDR, DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, USB

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in Canada:CAD 126,420.00-189,480.00
Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
