Director- Foundry silicon yield enablement
Job Description
About the Group:
As an integral part of Intel's new IDM2.0 strategy, we are establishing Intel Foundry Services (IFS), a fully vertical, standalone foundry business, reporting directly to the CEO. IFS will be a world-class foundry business and a major provider of the US and European-based capacity to serve customers globally. Intel Foundry Services will be differentiated from other Foundry offerings with a combination of leading-edge packaging and process technology, committed capacity in the US and Europe - available for customers globally - and a world-class IP portfolio that customers can choose from including x86 cores, graphics, media, display, AI, interconnect, fabric and other critical foundational IP, along with ARM and RISC-V ecosystem IPs. IFS will also provide access to silicon design services to help our customers seamlessly turn silicon into solutions, using industry-standard design packages.
About the Role:
Enable the systems to successfully yield customer products from a diverse set of customers and segments. In foundry we will manufacture designs with a wide range of design topology which will appear to the fab as widely different device selection, layout styles, layout density and interconnect topology. Systems and software are needed to classify the design topologies, to classify differences from the proven development and manufacturing window, identify the needed pre-silicon rules and guidelines to avoid issues, and work with the fab team to implement the needed systems to successfully manufacture each design. Pre-silicon rules and guidelines may include hotspot evaluation, lithography simulation and layout density envelope validation. Post-silicon activity may include process monitoring, APC modification, and process tuning to adapt targeted manufacturing process conditions to successfully manufacture the design. The leader of this team will be an experienced person who understands the industry practice and best known methods in the silicon yield enablement, and is highly effective in working across functional areas with multiple partner teams.
In this position you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Defining figures of merit for manufacturability and tracking the figures of merit across known IP and customer design level
Operational platforms to track yield and Cpk, with reports provided to the customer
Software to scope hot spots and product design specific risks
Design rules and systems for manufacturability
Parameter variation reduction in fab
Collaboration with manufacturing to implement the product-specific process adjustments to achieve high yield
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
Service mindset with a focus on solution velocity thrives in solving complex and cross-functional problems.
Ecosystem partnership collaborations.
