Job Description
Join our Software and Advanced Technology Group as a Cloud Software Architect!
This role is responsible for the strategic vision of the software architecture for the Intel Trust Platform (ITP) cloud service. Responsibilities include defining the technical vision, architecture, technical requirements, and operational considerations for a cloud-native software-as-a-service. This role is also responsible for providing technical oversight and guidance to the engineering teams.
As part of this role, you will have the influence, scope and responsibility to ensure that the software architecture for the ITP service is well-designed to meet current and ongoing customer requirements around functionality, scalability, performance, reliability, availability, security, cost efficiency and industry best practices.
Day to day activities can vary but will be a combination of the following:
Design and planning.
Technical review.
Collaboration, mentoring and guidance to engineers.
Research and Proof-of-Concept development.
Architecture evolution and forward thinking.
Architecture and Design communications (presentations and meetings)
Work deliverables include:
Architecture, high level, low level Design Documents
Proof of concept implementations
Scalability and performance plans
Security and compliance plans
Data management strategy
Deployment strategy
Cost estimations and optimization plans
Technical presentations
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 6+ years of experience -OR- a Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 2+ year of experience in:
3 or more years of experience designing applications using multiple public Cloud platforms and services (Azure, AWS, GCP)
3 or more years of experience demonstrating expert level knowledge of Cloud architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven, serverless, API first and API gateways, service mesh, CQRS, stateless design).
3 or more years of experience designing distributed systems (CAP, distributed storage system, consensus)
3 or more years of experience scaling and performance optimizing Cloud software
Experience with the following skillset is preferred:
Fundamental understanding of networking and security in Cloud environments (API gateways, firewalls, routing, and security policies)
Knowledge of scalability and performance optimizations for Cloud software
Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with serverless computing technology.
Fundamental knowledge of database systems (relational and object stores), including scaling, sharing and replication.
Deep understanding of monitoring and logging in Cloud environments including retention and cost optimization strategies
Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD concepts and practices.
Ability to create high-quality documentation about architectural decisions, design rationale and implementation guidelines.

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
