About Structured ASIC Team: The Structured ASIC team at Intel is seeking a seasoned Silicon Platform Architect to define and lead our strategies toward next generation Structured ASIC (SASIC) platforms and arrays aimed at Datacenter, Wireless, Military, and other markets. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly inclusive and talented team of hardware and software designers and architects that has brought Structured ASIC to market as a separate company eASIC, then acquired by Intel in 2018 to join the Programmable Solutions Group. The team is focused on extending the well-known Intel FPGA portfolio with Structured ASIC technology that offers FPGA customers significantly improved cost and power/performance by customizing few metal layers on predefined arrays. Intel has already successfully brought to market 4 generations of SASIC technology and is currently developing next generation architectures.
About the Role: An Intel Principal Engineer is a high-ranking technical role, with high visibility at all levels within the Programmable Solutions Group. Responsibilities include: define core architecture of SASIC, including logic, memory, routing fabric, DFT; proposes new areas for development based on advanced technical judgment and knowledge of Intel's process technology roadmap; is role model and mentor for less senior technical contributors. May represent Intel as a technical advisor or spokesman on internal and external activities. The ideal candidate for this role has demonstrated a track record for innovating and developing standard cell library architectures, Register Files or embedded RAM circuits (Memory Compilers) or other kind of structural design, such as optimized datapath logic
Responsibilities entail, but not limited to:
Collaborate with domain experts across Intel PSG to study the fast-evolving SASIC requirements.
Innovate new concepts and drive new features leading to world class Perf/W solutions ensuring best Total Cost Ownership for our customers. Help set the direction of the architecture requirements ensuring power and cost efficient SASIC solutions across various workloads and owning core architecture strategies. Closely collaborate with Hardware Circuit and Software Design Automation design teams.
Understand and own the key requirements from Customers, in collaboration with the Customer Engineering team.
Collaborate with Intel’s Process Technology support teams to thoroughly understand the early Design Kits and Process Design Rules for existing and developing CMOS processes.
Proactively identify and resolve problems upstream.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Masters in Computer Architecture or Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience or PhD degree in Computer Architecture or Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience or BS in Computer Architecture or Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience
10+ years of experience in SoC or platform architecture with 5+ years of experience in Silicon Platform architectures such as FPGA or regular processing arrays.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Place and Route EDA technology
Experience in CMOS cells and/or memory design

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
