Job Description

The Quartus Firmware Validation Team under the Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) is looking for a new team member to join us. This is a full-time role, and working remotely is definitely an option that can be considered.

Desired Skills/Background:

  • Strong in both written and verbal communication skills - Essential

  • Knowledge of and experience with Perl, Python2/3, including reading Hardware/Software specifications and turning them into tests - Essential

  • A strong work ethic/drive to always improve - Essential

  • Able to work efficiently and independently once familiar with our systems and processes - Essential

  • Basic ability in debugging/analyzing failures while connecting the dots to solve issues - Desired

We are looking for someone with the right mix of ingredients that we can train further within the role. The role requires someone who will fit well with our existing team dynamic and has the drive, desire and work ethic to continuously learn and level up their skills.


Qualifications

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reading FPGA Firmware specifications that are created by Firmware Architects, followed by understanding the technical specifications and both work/communicate with cross site teams comprising of Firmware developers to get clarity on issues and resolving them in a timely manner

  • Create tests from scratch or maintain existing tests (in Perl/Python) that will be used to validate Firmware used to program/configure FPGA devices

  • Debug test failures found during our weekly FPGA Firmware Regression Cycles

  • Contribute and innovate by proposing new shift-left ideas that may accelerate team efficiency/productivity including increasing Firmware Validation coverage in untouched/unexplored areas

  • You are also highly encouraged to be open to learning new things and be curious about what the FPGA world is about; having an interest in advancing your career as a SW developer and developing it into being a SW Architect in the near future is a bonus

  • Playing different roles in the team not limited to the above aforementioned i.e. other projects on the side like project management, team/process improvements and miscellaneous pathfinding

  • Contributing back to the Intel Technical Community by submitting Technical Papers or presenting both new and existing ideas in Technical Forums


This role may occasionally be dynamic and no two days are alike. While the role's general framework is predictable, this would be suitable for someone who enjoys keeping things interesting and thinking on their feet.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
