Job Description


As a Process Integration Development Engineer you will be responsible for developing processes to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements. You will plan and conduct experiments to characterise processes throughout the development cycle and to improve performance for photonic devices and components such as micro-optic components and systems, waveguides, couplers, spot size converters, etc.


Responsibilities may include review of product requirements, development of metrology capability, conducting device simulations, designing devices/test structures/test chips, planning and executing DOEs, characterising or evaluating device performance.
Interacting with a broad interdisciplinary team composed of experts in device layout, device fabrication, device test, electrical ICs, chip assembly, and component packaging, you will be a key member of the team delivering optical components from Research and Development to high volume production.


Qualifications


Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or other related field

  • Experience in data analysis using SAS JMP, MATLAB, python, or similar

  • Experience with CAD software packages e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk, etc

  • Ability to gather, analyse and present technical data in a clear and concise manner


Preferred qualifications and additional experience:

  • Ability to specify component requirements

  • Familiarity with key metrology techniques for mechanical and optical measurement

  • Experience in design tolerance analysis

  • Experience in instrument coding e.g. Python
