Job Description

Come join a growing team working on innovative custom SoC designs. The project is in the early (pre-execution) design phase with plenty of opportunities for growth, leadership and technical career development. We are looking for talented individuals to be part of our high performing team in the development, optimization and validation of SOC power delivery solutions. You will be part of the Custom Compute Group (XCC) within the Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group (AXG) and we are chartered with providing custom and differentiated silicon/platform solutions to our customers for emerging use-cases, in adjacent as well as new market segments.

In this role your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Define product's power delivery architecture - power plane partitioning, integrated vs off-package VRs - at the die, package and board level

  • Work with architecture and design team to model the SOC power for use cases. Develop SOC power model on new architecture design, providing power data for performance/power trade-offs.

  • Optimization of power delivery solutions to reduce power and/or increase performance

  • Pre- and Post-Si Validation of power delivery solutions

  • Close collaboration with Si design team for bump placement, top metal planning

  • Close collaboration with architecture and logic teams to define power management features and flows.

Ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following traits:

  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of power delivery design and physical design. Delivered multiple designs in leading edge technologies.

  • Familiar with chip physical design verification including formal equivalence, timing, electrical rules, DRC/LVS, Noise and electro-migration checks

  • Lead teams or domains and mentor other engineers and technically guide them.

  • Self-starter, strong collaborator, and ability to work independently at various levels of abstraction and drive tasks to completion

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and attention to details and grasp new technical concepts quickly.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with both internal and external teams/customers.

  • Facilitator of direct and open communication, diversity of opinion, and debate.

  • Willingness to work with teams across project domains and Geos.


This position involves work on US Government Contracts and/or proposals for US Government Contracts that limit participation to US Citizens. A person may be required to provide proof of US Citizenship in order to comply with US government requirements. Any offer by Intel for this position is conditioned upon satisfying any government requirements regarding proof of citizenship.

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related fields with 12+ years of relevant work experience Or a Master’s in the same fields with 10+ years of relevant work experience Or a PhD in the same field

  • Prior experience developing the power delivery solutions on high-performance CPU/GPU/Accelerator/etc

  • Experience in performing SOC power rollup based on workloads, tradeoff analysis based on design targets and recommendations

  • Delivered multiple designs in leading edge technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to the following:

  • SOC Structural/Physical Design including floor planning, logic synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis and design closure.

  • Chip physical design verification including formal equivalence, timing, electrical rules, DRC/LVS, Noise and electro-migration checks

  • Intel SOC Power Management techniques and algorithms

  • Package and/or board design

  • Intel HVM flow

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
